OIB017: Pseudo Nippon – Universal Pork Tai Chi
"Sounds like Dan Deacon having a jam with Konono No. 1 under the musical direction of The Chipmunks" - THE SKINNY
"Imagine 'Devo' or 'Boredoms' at their most unhinged and unpredictable" - SUBBA CULTCHA
"There's never a dull moment. Free your mind.. then laugh yourself silly while Pseudo Nippon blows it to multicoloured smithereens." - WHISPERIN AND HOLLERIN
From the mouth of PSEUDO NIPPON himself:
“Universal Pork Tai Chi, is inner space philospohy that lead to Fish Gods. Pseudo Nippon follow Universal Pork Tai Chi for many years, following teacher like Jebubu and Fishlady.
Jebubu was cosmic priest who lived in shed for thousands of years, fish would offer themselves to him, flap across land, and he would open shed door and fish there to eat and practice the philospohy in shed. Pseudo had come to live in the shed, now Temple of Shed for one and half year where he record this album. The album is Pseudo pala machine to express the underlying unknown in all we base are world on. Now physicists are finding new sub atomic prime particles that point to fish god existence beyond the multi-verse. stephen hawking beef.
This album sound utter joy because one way of universal pork tai chi moment is when have utter joy you no longer try. when you do practice of no try, connect to the eternal becoming of all energy and mass. never eat the same beef twice as all beef flux as all pork flux and as all holy yam flux. This joy when listen to songs make your heart beat in pufferfish green light with prawns leading procession to the grandmothers choir. at this point you appreciate your family.
Pseudo will bring the unhinged live show to you with Colden Drystone on drums and the jigs of wiggly worm and trex, with favourite gig pant, honestly not everyday just gig pant clean. He plan tour in May to mark release of Universal Pork Tai Chi. He also want tour of the towns of M25 circular, tour of plains of Africa, and gig on moon projected onto Channel Four three minute wonder but full gig streamed on school Intranet.
Pseudo has four children.”

THREE TRAPPED TIGERS
Formed with the single-minded mission of dragging elements of IDM into the format of a live band, replacing computers with humans, rendering a backing track redundant and adding a humanized dimension to a robotic genre, anybody that has ever witnessed a THREE TRAPPED TIGERS set with their own eyes knows that this experimental trio from London play like three caged beasts – sheer raw energy and power contained.
Having proved in their short existence so far that there really are no limits to their imagination or ability, an audience can expect a mind melting but beautiful melding of melody, progressive live electro with opportune slashes of visceral guitar; a furiously schizophrenic and complex duelling of Nintendo-style synths and textural electronica.
An absolute must for all fans of BATTLES, FUCK BUTTONS, LIGHTNING BOLT, and FOALS.

Out Today! - ROBERT STILLMAN - MACHINE'S SONG
Now available world wide from OIB RECORDS, the critically acclaimed new album from:

OIB021: Robert Stillman - Machine's Song
"Machine's Song is a creaky, uncanny music that creates an impressionistic picture of old America" - UNCUT
Machine’s Song is the new album from the composer and multi-instrumentalist Robert Stillman. A repertoire of music for the one man band, realised in solo performance and recording, the music of ‘Machine’s Song’ focuses on the notion of Uncanny in musical automata, one-man-band performance, and multi-track tape composition. Like Robert Stillman’s past compositional work, Machine’s Song combines pre-jazz American folk-form, surreal sound-collage, and evocative, unfolding melodies.
Utilising a mix of archaic or ‘dead’ technology, consumer-line equipment, and modern studio tools, much of Stillman's compositional work is done in a mobile, field-recording style of instruments over long periods of time, resulting in final products that are a hypothetical time-space.
Machine's Song was recorded as an accompaniment to the previous ‘Master Box EP’, a composition surrounding the idea of ‘Piano as Contraption’, these recordings portray the instrument, traditionally (classically) associated with the ‘Sublime,’ as the sum of its physical parts, not only a salute to the ‘physical’ attributes of piano, but to the maverick musical styles that exploited them (ragtime, boogie, etc.).
"Bells ring on like old fire engines tearing into the night, while keyboards and horns conjure up the sound of trains rolling across vast expanses. If we often associate Americana with the stories of outlaw characters - hobos, drifters, whatever - who might be riding the trains, Machine's Song, as the title suggests, gives a voice to the trains themselves. 'All music and sound composed, performed and recorded by Robert Stillman for Archaic Future', read the sleevenotes; perhaps we could call it, 'Avant-Garde Nostalgia', too?" - UNCUT
