BRIGHTON

WHY?

Everyone comes into their own at different times. For WHY?, most agree that this happened across 2008 and 2009 with a pair of oddly engrossing stunners—the tightly rhythmic Alopecia and its quieter, kinda country cousin Eskimo Snow—which turned the oft-boxed music world on its hella gross cauliflower ear. High marks were awarded by the coolest of customers as the band momentarily swelled to five with the induction of Fog guys Andrew Broder (shred) and Mark Erickson (boom). When they finally came off of the road, WHY? set themselves to humbler tasks: turning out intimate tunes for lucky fans (via a Golden Ticket mail-order merch contest) and intricate beats for rapper Serengeti's praised Family & Friends LP.

Now, it happens to be 2012, so there's a new EP called Sod in the Seed and a new LP, their fifth.

EL-P

One Inch Badge are proud to announce not one, not two but three shows for rap icon EL-P in September!

Following the release of his new solo album Cancer For Cure we're going to be putting the man up for a few days in September. He'll be at The Haunt in Brighton on the 13th, The Fleece in Bristol on the 16th and Academy 3, Manchester on the 19th.

Check out the Facebook events and get your tickets from the links below:

EL-P

Independent rap icon El-P released his long awaited new solo album Cancer For Cure, at his new home Fat Possum on May 22, 2012.

The new album marks his first full length rap album since 2007’s critically acclaimed I’ll Sleep When You’re Dead, though El-P’s rap trajectory has been on a steady ascent following a prolific year that saw high profile appearances on Das Racist’s mixtape and debut album, a hugely buzzed Adult Swim single “Drones Over BKLYN”, a verse (which made Stereogum’s top 10 guest verses of the year) on one of the year’s biggest online hits, Mr Muthafuckin’ eXquire’s “Huzzah”, among several other honors.

WOODS! - NEW SHOWS

Got a hankerin' for an evening of lo-fi authentic American folk? Well we have just the night for you!
Presenting:

This is shaping up to be one of the best shows we'll be putting on all year so make sure you're free on the 1ST OF SEPTEMBER because these guys will be filling The Blind Tiger with some luscious sounds.

Take a look at the Facebook Event page and check this video out to get you all as excited for this show as we are!

TICKETS:

WOODS
The foundations of Brooklyn’s Woods lie in the small rear-house apartment bedroom of Jeremy Earl, who took to recording his eerily somber acoustic songs in 2005 as little more than a humble personal outlet. After two early albums and several singles which saw Earl still honing his sound, Woods released “Songs of Shame” in 2009 to widespread critical acclaim and offered the band a chance to develop their live sound on the back of a massive touring schedule.

DJANGO DJANGO + support!

One Inch Badge proudly presents DJANGO DJANGO + support live at THE OLD MARKET!
Monday 29th October

Going to be an amazing show at one of our favourite venues!

The guys are awesome so you better get your tickets as soon as they go on sale on FRIDAY 8TH JUNE

DJANGO DJANGO
For four, long years, Django Django have been busy doing great things in the East London bedroom slept in by their drummer, producer and de facto leader David Maclean. The result of those great things is a great self-titled debut record.
With a confident, adventurous and psychedelically-bruised strain of art-rock that melds intangible electronic flourishes to the visceral rub of live instrumentation.
Django Django’s story looks set to be a long and compelling one. By banging together their thirst for adventure and their exacting high standards, they’ve produced an album that seems to have everything, but on which everything never seems too much.
